foley street | improvised concerts series
October 8, 2014 @ 8:00 pm| £6
October’s concert will feature two acoustic duos.
Tom Jackson (clarinet) & Benedict Taylor (viola) (duo)
Tom Jackson and Benedict Taylor have been playing together for many years now, in various groups but most notably in their longstanding duo. An awesome duo who possess the ability to invigorate, inspire and astonish, sometimes all at once!
“No man can listen and remain unmoved at such delicious sounds; barking, crying, hooting and issuing many a plaintive mew, both raising dreadfull clamours to the skies.” Ed Pinsent, soundprojector.com
Edward Lucas (trombone) & Daniel Thompson (guitar) (duo)
The second duo for tonights concert will feature the trombone and guitar of Edward Lucas and Daniel Thompson who actually played their debut at Foley Street in February of this year. They have been playing together regularly ever since and look forward to re-investigating their duo music at the venue where it all started.
Foley Street is a monthly concert series organised by guitarist Daniel Thompson and was initiated to promote and present freely improvised music within the London area. Local, national and international musicians are presented within the concert series, which takes place in the intimate and beautiful space above The King and Queen pub on Foley Street in London’s west end.
